Ready-to-Cook Gourmet Meals Menu
Forget about
drinking and driving and take the opportunity to sit back and relax
with a bottle of Hawke’s Bay wine and enjoy a superb
home-cooked gourmet meal delivered to your cottage. Some meals
such as the Hawke’s Bay Tasting Platter comes ready to eat
while for others your will need to do a very little bit work, such
as the cook the marinated steak, or heat the sauce and cook the
pasta. However, meals come with full instructions on how to turn
them into a gourmet dinner so nothing is left to chance!
The menu changes with the seasons and where possible features Hawke’s
Bay grown and produced food. Each meal serves two.

Hawke’s Bay Tasting Platter (no cooking required)
This antipasto platter features unique Hawke’s Bay products
and features a selection of the following uniquely Hawke’s
Bay produced foods.
- Aromatics Wine Barrel Smoked Mushrooms
- Maison Therese Pickled Cornichons
- Maison Therese Pickled Cocktail Onions
- Maison Therese Antipasto Vegetables
- Cured meats from The Deli
- Te Mata Cheeses
- Saucy Sisters Pickled Peppers
- Served with crostini, local artisan bread and a salad of mixed leaves
Cost: $30 to feed two or $50 to feed four; larger platters by request
Soup, Bread and Cheese
The perfect welcome on your arrival at Driftwood Cottages – this
simple menu of homemade soup, locally baked artisan bread and Hawke’s
Bay organic cheese is just what you need after a few hours drive
and will keep the hunger pangs at bay until morning. But best of
all, all you need to do is heat the soup and it’s ready to
eat.

Cost: $20 per head
Pasta, Salad and Chocolate Brownies
Just cook the pasta, heat and add the sauce and you have the easiest
of meals. Finish with a rich Chocolate Brownie for a special treat.
Your choice of:
- Pappardelle with Hunter-style Pasta Sauce of Herbs, Pancetta,
Tomato and Wine
- Penne with Sardinian-style Raw Tomato Sauce
- Fusilli with Mushroom, Ham and Tomato Sauce
Salad of Mixed Leaves dressed with Red Wine Vinaigrette
Rich Chocolate Brownies
Cost: $15 per head
Steak, Salad and Lime Tart
The main course of this meal features Hawke’s Bay grown “Verry” Beef
marinated in kecap manis (sweet soy sauce), Chinese rice wine, sesame
oil and Chinese black vinegar. All you need to do is lift the steak
out of the marinade and cook it on your preheated barbecue or in
a preheated frying pan. Accompanying the beef is a pungent Sweet
and Sour Radish Salad and a simple Salad of Mixed Leaves. Made from Hawke's Bay grown limes the Lime Tart is the prefect finish to this easy meal.
