Location
Driftwood Cottages are tucked away near the beach in the small semi-rural settlement of East Clive in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.

This convenient location is central to many of the Hawke’s Bay Wine Country activities and just a 10-minute drive from the shopping centres of Napier, Hastings and Havelock North and five minutes from the award-winning Cape Kidnappers Golf Course.

Driving Instructions

From the South (Wellington and Palmerston North)
Travel north on SH2 towards Hastings and Napier. Enter Hastings on Railway Road (SH2) –you will pass the racecourse on your left – and follow the signs to Napier, these take you in a loop around the outskirts of the central city and you will arrive at Karamu Road (SH2). Turn right into Karamu Road (make sure you are in the centre lane as you approach Karamu Road) and follow the signs to Clive and Napier.

Approximately eight kilometres from Hastings turn right into Richmond Road – there is a large white building on the left. Travel to the end of Richmond Road – you will cross over Mill Road and School Road – turn right into Grey Street (it is the second street). Driftwood Cottages are located about 200 metres along Grey Street on the right.

From the North (Auckland and Taupo)
Travel south on SH2 towards Napier. Just past the airport, turn left on SH2 following the signs to City Centre. Follow SH2 along Meeanee Quay, cross the Westshore Bridge and travel along Pandora Road to the roundabout, then turn right into Hyderabad Road. Keeping in the left hand lane and following the signs to Hastings and Havelock North, travel along Hyderabad Road (you will go through two more roundabouts), after the second roundabout move into the right hand lane and at the next intersection turn right into Georges Drive and follow the signs to Hastings and Havelock North. Travel along Georges Drives until you see the sea then turn right onto Marine Parade, still following SH2.

Follow the coast road (SH2) until you come to the small township of Clive (about eight kilometres). After crossing the bridge at the northern end of Clive take the first left turn into School Road – the Clive Hotel is on the corner – travel along School Road for approximately 1.5 kilometres to Richmond Road. Turn left into Richmond Road, travel along Richmond Road for approximately 400 metres then turn right into Grey Street (it is the second street). Driftwood Cottages are located about 200 metres along Grey Street on the right.
